QuestGo ("we," "our," or "us") operates a location-based quest and scavenger hunt platform at questgo.app. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have regarding your data. By using QuestGo, you agree to the practices described here.
QuestGo's core functionality requires location access. When you participate in a quest and attempt a GPS-based check-in, we request your device's precise location to verify your proximity to a discovery point. This location data is used solely to validate check-ins and is not shared with third parties for advertising purposes.
When you create an account via Manus OAuth, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from your identity provider. We store this to identify you within the platform and display your name on leaderboards and progress records.
We record which quests you join, which discoveries you complete, the timestamp of each check-in, and any photos you submit for photo-based check-ins. This data powers your personal progress dashboard and is shared with the quest organizer for their analytics.
If you use photo check-in, the photo you capture is uploaded to our secure cloud storage (Amazon S3) and may be reviewed by the quest organizer for approval. Photos are not shared publicly unless the quest organizer explicitly enables a public gallery feature.
We collect standard web analytics (page views, session duration, device type) via our analytics provider to understand how the platform is used and improve the experience. This data is aggregated and does not identify individual users.
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in the following circumstances:
When you join a quest, the organizer can see your name, email, check-in history, and submitted photos for that quest. This is necessary for them to manage participants and verify completions.
We use Amazon Web Services (S3) for file storage, a MySQL-compatible database for structured data, and Stripe for payment processing. These providers are contractually bound to protect your data and may not use it for their own purposes.
We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of QuestGo, our users, or the public.
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data. You can exercise these rights directly from your account settings.
Download a complete copy of all data we hold about you, including your profile, quest history, check-ins, and photos.
Permanently delete your account and all associated data. This action is irreversible and will remove your quest history, badges, and check-in records.
Request a summary of what personal information we hold about you and how it is being used.
Update your name or email address at any time from your profile settings.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Check-in records and quest participation history are retained for 3 years to support organizer analytics and dispute resolution. Submitted photos are retained for 1 year after the quest ends, after which they are automatically deleted from our storage. When you delete your account, all personally identifiable information is permanently removed within 30 days.
We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, secure JWT session tokens, and access-controlled cloud storage. We do not store payment card details — all payment processing is handled by Stripe, which is PCI DSS compliant. While we take security seriously, no system is completely immune to breaches. If a data breach occurs that affects your personal information, we will notify you within 72 hours as required by applicable law.
QuestGo is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by displaying a prominent notice in the app at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of QuestGo after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or want to exercise your data rights, please contact us at [email protected]. We aim to respond to all privacy requests within 30 days.
